A little about me

I am a Specialist Periodontist and Implant Surgeon with over a decade of experience in managing advanced periodontal conditions and delivering implant-based solutions for patients with compromised oral health. I completed my Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) at the University of Manchester School of Dentistry, where I developed an early interest in the biological foundations of gum health and complex soft tissue management.

Following general practice, I undertook a three-year Specialist Training Programme in Periodontology at the University of Birmingham School of Dentistry, gaining extensive experience in regenerative procedures, mucogingival surgery, and periodontal therapy. I later completed an Advanced Implantology Certificate at King’s College London Dental Institute, focusing on surgical implant placement, peri-implant tissue optimisation, and long-term implant maintenance.

My clinical approach is centred on evidence-based treatment planning, minimally invasive techniques, and patient education. I have a particular interest in preserving natural dentition wherever possible, enhancing soft tissue aesthetics, and ensuring stable long-term outcomes for both periodontal and implant patients.

My list of treatments

Full-arch implant rehabilitation

Comprehensive replacement of all missing teeth in an arch using four or six strategically placed implants, providing a fixed, natural-looking restoration for patients with extensive tooth loss.

Single and multiple implant placement

Surgical placement of titanium implants to replace one or several missing teeth, supporting durable and aesthetic restorations that restore normal function.

Immediate implant placement and loading

Placement of implants at the same appointment as tooth extraction, often combined with same-day temporary restorations to minimise downtime and preserve aesthetics.

Bone grafting and sinus augmentation

Procedures used to rebuild areas of insufficient bone, particularly in the upper jaw, enabling stable implant placement where bone volume is limited.

Crowns, bridges, and veneers

Custom-designed ceramic restorations used to restore or replace damaged or missing teeth while enhancing aesthetics and restoring proper bite function.

Implant-retained overdentures

Removable dentures that clip securely onto implants, improving stability, chewing efficiency, and overall comfort for patients dissatisfied with traditional dentures.

What others have said about me

“Dr Birch helped me turn around years of gum problems that I thought were beyond repair. His explanations were clear, and he always made me feel at ease. After completing regenerative treatment, my gums are healthier and stronger than they have been in years. His professionalism is exceptional.”

Laura Middleton

“I was referred to Dr Birch for peri-implantitis treatment. He handled my case with remarkable precision and patience. He explained every option carefully, and thanks to his approach, we managed to save the implant. His confidence and expertise gave me reassurance throughout.”

Daniel Walsh

“I had recession around my upper canine and felt increasingly self-conscious when I smiled. Dr Birch carried out a connective tissue graft, and the result is both functional and aesthetic. His calm manner and obvious skill made the process straightforward. I’m so pleased with the outcome.”
